So you're looking for a halloween costume?  And you're a chick and you love the 80s?  Well!  This is a list of all my favorite hot ladies from the 80s.  Hopefully this guide helps you pick something radical!

Madonna

Get the look of the queen of pop!

Hair

Slick back a short haircut or crimp and poof up longer hair. Use pink hair dye or temporary spray for highlights and finish off with a large bow.

Face

Heavy eye and lip makeup, for sure. Complete your face with her signature mole above her lip.

Clothes:

A lacey bustier with poofy tu-tu or any skirt that is layered and made from tulle would be excellent. If you're shy, you can do a tore up, off-the-shoulder shirt with a skirt.

Accessories

Big earrings, layered necklaces (inexpensive pearls and costume jewelry crosses do the trick), multiple bracelets, over-sized fashion belt, leggings, lace gloves (and anything else lace).

Shoes:

Anything will work really, from pumps to heels, jellies to combat boots.

Finishing touches

RayBan Wayfarer sunglasses and a denim jacket will turn you from rad to radical.

“Don’t just stand there let’s get to it. Strike a pose, there’s nothing to it.” --Madonna

Punky Brewster

Super easy because you probably have everything you'll need!

Hair

Pigtails are a must! Cutesy ponytail holders are a plus.

Face

Au natural! If you weren't born with freckles, use a light colored eyeliner to draw some on.

Clothes:

Here's the meat and potatoes of your costume! Punky was known for her style! Think bright colors and layers. She wore vests, especially a decorated orange one. Remember to roll up one of your jean pantlegs.

Accessories

Tie a bandanna around your pantleg, halfway in between your knee and thigh, but not the pantleg that is rolled up. If wearing a vest, mix it up with buttons and cute patches. Should you choose to wear a denim skirt instead, wear cute striped or mix-matched knee socks or striped leggings.

Shoes:

Her shoes were incredibly colorful (I had her official shoes when I was in kindergarten). Wear your own colorful kicks, a pair of mismatched all-stars or you could even buy some inexpensive white sneakers and decorate them yourself.

Finishing touches

Carry around a stuffed animal golden retriever, like Punky's dog, Brandon the Wonder Dog.

Holy Macanoli!-- Penelope "Punky" Brewster

April O'Neil

This look is specific, but I have some neat alternatives to save time and money.

Hair

Trademark red. Not a huge deal, but an inexpensive red bob style wig will complete this look. Temporary color spray does the trick too.

Face

Your choice.

Clothes:

Technically, a plain yellow jumpsuit. If you can't find one, try for a yellow shirt tucked into yellow pants or shorts. If you're lucky enough to find a yellow sleeved and collared dress, that'll work too. If you have run out of time and resources, do a yellow tmnt t-shirt with yellow pants or shorts.

Accessories

Easy stuff. Belt.

Shoes:

White boots or shoes.

Finishing touches

Wristwatch and prop microphone for any late-breaking stories!

I'd like to invite you all in but I really don't have anything to offer you guys except for some... frozen pizza.-- April O'Neil

She-Ra

This can be all-out or subtle. You pick.

Hair

Long and blonde. Sport a wig, try temp spray color, or just sport what you have.

Face

Your choice. Gold eye shadow and red lips look great, though!

Clothes:

Short white dress decorated with gold. Decorate the dress with glitter OR use iron-on bonding to adhere gold material to the dress. A white t-shirt or tank top with a skirt will do. Finish it off with a red cape.

Accessories

Gold headdress bought or made. Gold gauntlets or bracelets. Optional gold belt.

Shoes:

Gold boots. Heels or sneakers would work too, as long as they're gold.

Finishing touches

Prop sword and shield.

I am She-Ra!-- She-Ra
